There was a lot of anticipation as to what features the new Apple iPhone would feature and in October Apple introduced to the world the new iPhone 4S which features a voice assisted personal assistant “siri”.

The Siri app is voice interaction with your mobile phone which uses normal language to answer questions and perform actions by delegating requests to other relevant apps on the phone. It can even call a taxi for you and make your dinner reservation by adapting your preferences.

It can send emails, make meeting reminders, book tickets and do many more personalized tasks for you by recognizing your voice and converting those commands into action. It is in fact like having a personal assistant with you 24×7!

Siri will do away with the need for typing when searching the internet as all you need to do is tell Siri what you need to search and you will be given the results. It can also be used for looking up information on the stock market and find definitions from a dictionary

The Siri app was developed by Nuance Communications and was purchased by Apple in 2010. A year later the iPhone 4S with Siri is selling millions of phones worldwide.
