If your company relies on a fairly sophisticated IT infrastructure—and most should these days—then you may have already heard of Internet EDI. Maybe you’ve even looked into the EDI service bureau.
However, if you’re not currently taking advantage of what EDI has to offer, then it might be the case that you don’t fully understand what it entails. Otherwise, you’d most likely have invested in it a long time ago.
The thing is, yes, you want to use as much software as possible in an effort to meet your company’s goals. You want to use software to limit overhead and automat processes.
That being said, you may find that, at the end of the day, your investment gets you very little in return. Have you found this? Have you realized that all your software doesn’t actually do much?
If this sounds painfully familiar, then you definitely need EDI. What’s probably happening is that your software is actually getting in its own way.
Think about your employees. If you ever hired more than you needed, not only would your overhead be insane, but you’d soon find that all those people were stepping on each other’s toes.
Don’t let this happen to you. Use EDI to make sure you get the right results from your software.
